In the Spirit of Blessed Francis of Assisi, the 13th century Italian saint, we will gather at St. Paul’s for a Blessing of the Animals service on October 2 at 3:00 p.m. Weather permitting, the event will be held outside in the playground area east of the Church; otherwise, we will have the blessing in the Great Hall. Chairs will be available.
All animals, great of small – lizards, rabbits, cats, rats, canine, etc. – are cordially invited to attend, provided that their owners testify that they have been properly vaccinated and come properly restrained. Olly is coming in semi-formal attire (I had to talk him down from a tux) and I have been praying the blessing takes this year!
Refreshments consisting of animal crackers will be served.
Whatever you do, don’t miss this awe-inspiring, infectiously happy event.
